Made in Japan in the mid 1980's, the ESP 400 Series Stratocaster is exactly what you'd want from a professional grade Japanese guitar. There was one famously used by Kirk Hammett in Metallic's "One" music video, so that's a decent testament to their quality!
Solid alder body with a glossy Candy Apple Red finish bolted to a maple neck with a 21 fret rosewood fingerboard ('62 reissue profile with medium jumbo frets, 43mm nut width), it weighs 3.7kg's. Loaded with the original neck and middle single coils along with a vintage Seymour Duncan Hot Rails in the bridge position controlled by a 5-way pickup selector. The knobs have been replaced and the strap buttons were swapped out for a Dimarzio locking strap, the tuners and bridge are both original and working perfectly.
Given a full setup and service prior to listing, this thing was loved and played extensively over the years and it shows in all the right ways with a satin smooth feeling neck. The truss adjusts as it should and the neck is straight, the frets show some play-wear but are shiny and have plenty of life left.
