Made in Japan in 1981, the ST-70 Springy Sound was a new model for Tokai and was their mid-range '57 styled Stratocaster. Alder body with a black poly finish, one-piece maple neck with a '57 slim U profile (7.25" radius), it weighs just over 3.3kg's.
This one arrived with us as just a neck and body with minimal components, so we dug through our stash of NOS components that we received from Tokai's warehouse in Japan to put it together in the most respectful way possible. Loaded with period correct saddles on the original bridge along with some NOS tuners and vintage alnico cloth-wired single coils wired to Japanese pots and a 5-way selector plus a NOS single ply pickguard from the 1980's.
Very nice vintage condition as pictured with some light wear and tear from general use but no breaks or repairs. The frets are clean and have life left with light playwear, the neck is straight and the truss adjusts as it should.
