Made by the Matsumoku factory and sold under the Aria Diamond brand in the late 60's and early 70's, this is an early variant of the 5120 model hollowbody bass. With a 30.5" scale length maple neck and bound rosewood fingerboard, it's loaded with two single coil pickups (the same style of pickups used on the Epiphone ET-270) and weighs 3.3kg's.
Pops along nicely as it sits and appears to be close to all original as pictured. The neck has a slight repair on the back where the factory join has been reglued, it's solid and feels satin smooth to touch, with a refinish of the neck it would disappear but at the moment it's purely cosmetic.
This was one of a few basses traded in by a musician that has all his gear regularly serviced by Alan Rigg, so it's a well looked after bass.
