Made in Japan in 1974, this is the rare "Non-F-Hole" variation of the famous SA series of smaller bodied hollow designs that predated the Gibson ES-339 range by a number of years. The SA-500 features a full hollow construction body made with a maple top and back with mahogany sizes, set three-piece maple neck and a bound rosewood fingerboard, it weighs a comfortable 3.1kg's.
This one has the original Maxon humbuckers with an aftermarket coil split mini toggle for the bridge pickup along with a replaced Bigsby tailpiece that's been partially painted matte gold (along with the pickup rings and pickguard) and some upgraded Gibson Deluxe tuners.
Overall it's in clean vintage condition as pictured with a few cosmetic blemishes and the modifications mentioned previously. The original vintage frets have some wear but were polished and play smoothly, the truss functions as it should and the neck is straight.
