We snatched this up on a recent trip to Japan as it was too interesting to leave behind! It's a custom order variant of the Ibanez 2629 with a few quirks and factory mods that make it unique!

Semi hollow construction with a bound birch top, back and sides, beautiful rosewood fingerboard with binding nibs and abalone inlays, three-piece flamed maple neck (44mm bone/brass nut), it weighs just under 4kg's. Has an Ibanez branded Super 80 humbucker in the neck position with the Flying Fingers on the gold cover and what looks to be another Super 80 in the bridge position (although it's not branded), Ibanez branded tuners look original although there's some extra screw-holes where it looks like there has been some other tuners installed at some point. Gibraltar bridge and tailpiece are original and work well along with the original pots and knobs.

Interestingly this one has no sign of a strap button anywhere near the neck joint or either horns and it also has a second output jack where a usual Left Handed one would be on the opposite side of the body. We suspect it was custom ordered to have the output jack there to wrap around the strap button and was played with a banjo-style strap tied to the headstock (like i said, we grabbed this because it's a fascinatingly cool guitar!).

Good vintage condition as pictured with some light signs of wear and tear. The frets are wide and large with plenty of life left and the binding nibs are still intact. The truss works as it should and the neck is straight, given a basic restring and service prior to listing.
