Made in Japan in late 1977, this is one of the first release Springy Sound models made by Tokai and are considered their first "accurate vintage Fender replica". Emulating the '58 design, the ST-50 features a two-piece Sen body with an aged vintage white finish bolted to a maple neck with a walnut skunk stripe (7.25" radius, 43mm nut width) and weighs 3.7kg's.
Loaded with the original pots and wiring, the original grey back ST-Vintage alnico single coils have the "E" stamp on them (making it a transitional model as these were first seen on early 1978 model ST's) and are controlled by the original three-way selector. It's got the original small neck plate, Tokai stamped saddles and original Japanese bridge along with the original CBS style tuners.
This one's got some signs of wear and tear cosmetically as pictured including some crackling to the clear coat on the fretboard and headstock but there's no breaks or repairs to be seen. The frets appear original and are a little low but were polished and still play smoothly, the neck is straight and the truss works as it should.
