1978 Aria Pro II Japan LP-600R "Black Beauty" Les Paul Custom (Refinished Gold)
1978 Aria Pro II Japan LP-600R "Black Beauty" Les Paul Custom (Refinished Gold)
Ever looked at a goldtop Les Paul and thought "I wish it had more gold."?
Made by the Matsumoku factory in late 1978, the LP-600R is a rarer-than-most three-pickup Les Paul Custom from Aria Pro II. Mahogany body with a slim 60's three-piece maple neck and bound rosewood fretboard, it weighs a very reasonable 4.3kg's (making it much more playable than some of the 5kg builds from a similar era). Loaded with three Matsumoku T-Top humbuckers controlled by 3V, 1T wiring.
This one was completely painted in gold prior to receiving a full professional setup and service, the finish is spotty but suits the age of the guitar well. The frets were polished and are shiny and smooth with some light pitting/playwear, the neck is straight with a fully adjustable truss.
