Made in Japan (Fujigen) in 1978, the GO series were aimed at competing with the Ibanez Musician models that were starting to surface in Western markets. This appears to be a custom order GO-1200 with some non-factory specs and is very clearly a high end offering from Greco that showcased the quality that the Fujigen factory were able to produce.
Built with a 7-ply maple/walnut neckthrough construction flanked by a pair of ash/mahogany sandwich wings, a 24 fret rosewood fingerboard (628mm scale length), it weighs 4.6kg's. This one is loaded with Greco's GO series vibrato system that wasn't usually seen on the GO-1200 with the original arm still present along with a bone/brass nut and high end Greco Patented smooth tuners.
Loaded with some very tweakable electronics including the original PU-3D soapbar humbuckers with a dummy single coil in the neck position (unwired) controlled by an active three-band EQ, a series/parallel mini toggle for the neck pickup and a phase mini toggle for the bridge pickup along with volume and tone controls and a three-way pickup selector.
Given a full professional service and setup prior to listing. Frets are a little pitted and worn but were polished and play well with minimal pitting, the neck is straight with an adjustable truss and the electronics work as they should.
