Made in Japan in 1978, the original BB1200 was Yamaha's flagship bass and the start of their ascent into neckthrough greatness and paved the way for the famous BB2000 and BB3000 models to be released a few years later. Solid alder body with a mahogany/maple neck and a 22 fret rosewood fingerboard (44mm nut width, 34" scale length), it weighs 4.5kg's. Loaded with the original Yamaha P style pickup controlled by master volume/tone controls, it appears to be all original as pictured.
Good vintage condition as pictured, received a full professional setup and service prior to listing including a deep clean, fretboard oil and truss adjustment. The neck is straight and plays smoothly.
