Made in Japan in the early 1980's, the EB-85 was Fernandes' Eagle Bass version of the BC Rich Eagle KOA models. Mahogany wings around a maple center with a maple neck and rosewood fingerboard (44mm nut width, 34" scale length), it weighs 4.3kg's.
This one's been heavily used and heavily modded as pictured. The bridge pickup is a vintage Gotoh passive pickup, the bridge appears replaced and the electronics have been modified and replaced. The Varitone works as it should and both pickups sound great together with a few phase and coil splitting options on the toggle switches.
Players grade condition as pictured but it was serviced prior to listing and plays very nicely. Seems to be some overspray on the finish along with some of the clear coat worn off so it's naturally relic'd. The truss works perfectly and the frets are shiny with plenty of life, the neck is straight and smooth. No structural breaks or issues, there's some small clear coat cracking on the back of the neck that is smooth to touch and undetectable in the hand.
