This guy came to us labelled by the sender as a "mysterious Telecaster" (translated from Japanese). We've debunked the mystery a little to reveal it as a 1983 Tokai TE-50 Breezysound (based on the neck heel stamps and components including the Deluxe stamped tuners and the 5-digit serial on the neck plate) that's been heavily modified over the years. Alder body with a one-piece maple neck (slim U vintage profile), it weighs 3.7kg's.
Loaded with a pair of unbranded Telecaster pickups with cloth wires along with Noble pots and some aftermarket wiring, it seems to have an aftermarket 6-saddle bridge and the original "Deluxe" stamped tuners as previously mentioned. It appears to have been refinished multiple times over it's life and has had the logo removed from the headstock (a Fender decal looks to have been on there at some stage).
Good overall condition considering everything we've mentioned above, it plays nicely as it sits with life in the vintage frets and a straight neck with an adjustable truss. The finish is scratched up and relic'd and the hardware has patina but overall it's nice as it sits or would flourish with a nice nitro finish and rebuild.
