A very rare model from Fender Japan's 1986 catalog, the JB406-60 was a medium scale version of the '62 Fender Jazz Bass that wears the critically acclaimed "E" serial number. Compact basswood body with a three-tone sunburst finish bolted to a maple neck with a 22 fret rosewood fingerboard (32" scale length, 40mm nut width, 110mm total length), it weighs 3.7kg's. Factory loaded with a pair of Fender Japan JB single coils and standard Jazz Bass wiring along with a fully adjustable bridge and full sized tuners.
This one is in clean overall condition for its age as pictured with a few modifications that were reversed by the previous owner. The bridge pickup appears to have been routed at some point and there's a swimming pool style routing under the pickguard with some glue to keep the pickup in place. The neck is straight and adjusts well with shiny frets and a nice smooth action.
