Made by the Fujigen factory in 1987 as part of Fender Japan's famous "E Series", this ST57 model was a higher end model '57 reissue in their Japanese market catalog.
Alder body with a polyester brown sunburst finish bolted to a maple neck shaped with the classic '57 slim C neck profile (7.25" radius, 43mm nut, 648mm scale length), it weighs 3.3kg's. Looks to be close to all original under the pickguard with three Fender USA ST-VINTAGE single coils. The neck pickup has had the wires re-soldered and the original tone cap was replaced by a lower value vintage capacitor, the pots and DM-50 5-way switch are original.
Given a basic setup and service prior to listing including a fret polish and truss adjustment, there's some light wear to the frets but they still play smooth and the straight neck plays well. The tone pots and switch are 40 years old and can be slightly scratchy at times,contact us if you'd like them replaced prior to purchase (we've kept them in there for originality).
