Made by the Fujigen factory in 1987 as part of Fender Japan's famous "E Series", this is a TC72-60 Telecaster Custom model that's lived a tough life and still has plenty more in the tank!
Basswood body with a gloss black finish bolted to a one-piece maple neck (7.25" radius, 43mm nut width), it weighs 3.7kg's. Loaded with the original Fender Japan pickups (a single coil and a wide-range humbucker) and wiring along with the original Fender stamped ashtray bridge and a set of aftermarket Gotoh tuners.
This one seemingly had a bit of water damage at some point but we've given it a full teardown and rebuild and there's no need for concern with no noticeable ongoing damage to the wood or the electronics. The finish on the body and the fingerboard has worn off and the back of the neck was sanded smooth for a nice satin feel. Given a basic setup and service prior to listing and it plays well with a straight neck and life left in the vintage frets. The truss works as it should and the electronics sound great.
