1987 Ibanez Japan AM205AV Artist Series Semi Hollowbody (Antique Violin)
1987 Ibanez Japan AM205AV Artist Series Semi Hollowbody (Antique Violin)
Made by the Terada factory in Japan in 1987, the AM205 was a compact semi-hollow design reminiscent of the Gibson ES-339. Arched burl mahogany top, back and sides with a maple center-block, slim 60's style "Stagemaster" mahogany neck and a 22 fret ebony fingerboard (43mm nut width, 628mm scale length) with pearl/abalone inlays, it weighs 3.4kg's.
Loaded with the original Gibraltar II bridge and Quik Change II tailpiece along with an aftermarket set of Gotoh tuners and a Seymour Duncan SH11/59B pickup configuration. Measures 35.5cm at the lower bout and a 25cm across the upper bout to give it a nice compact feel while still sounding nice and resonant both acoustically and plugged in.
Very clean overall condition for it's age as pictured with only basic signs of wear and tear from general use. The frets are shiny and smooth and the neck is straight with a fully functional truss. The electronics are working well with quiet pots and a good switch. Given a full professional setup with 11-52's prior to listing.
