One of the oddball models of the late 80's and early 90's, this is an example of the Fender USA Stratocaster Standard model that was made in the USA and sold primarily to the Japanese market.
While at a glance they appear almost identical to the Japanese Standard model (also known as the ST-38), they have a few key differences including hardware with imperial components (rather than metric components on Japanese guitars) and swimming-pool routing under the pickguard coupled with CNC routing marks that were never seen on Japanese guitars.
Solid body with a gloss black finish bolted to a maple neck with a 21 fret rosewood fingerboard (9.5" radius), it weighs 3.2kg's. Loaded with the original high-output ceramic pickups (very different from the Fender Japan ceramic single coils), it appears to have a replacement volume pot and the original tone pots.
Good overall vintage condition as pictured with basic signs of wear and tear from general use. The frets are shiny and the fretboard was oiled, the truss works perfectly and the neck is straight.
