Made in 1999 by the famous Fujigen factory as part of Gibson's experiment with Japanese manufacturers, the Epiphone EB-3 was a Jack Bruce style SG bass with all the Gibson trimmings.
Mahogany body with a set mahogany neck and a 20 fret rosewood fingerboard (30.5" scale length, 44mm nut width), it weighs 3.4kg's. Loaded with the original Epiphone Japan humbucker/single coil pickup configuration along with a four-way rotary switch with a capacitor choke for the true Jack Bruce sound.
The previous owner sanded the finish in spots as pictured although it feels smooth and soft with no noticeable loss of wood or shape if you wanted to have it refinished. They also swapped the bridge out for a Hipshot and mounted it on a small block of rosewood to get it to the correct height.
Plays and sounds great as it sits with a smooth low action and a fully adjustable truss. Heavily discounted due to the mods but you're getting a very high quality and very playable bass. The frets have plenty of life and the neck is straight with a fully functional truss.
