American-made quality at an unbeatable price
Fender's American Special Series gives you access to genuine US-made Fenders at unbeatable prices. Its features include a supremely playable maple neck and rosewood fingerboard with jumbo frets. Two Texas Special single-coils and a Fender Atomic humbucker can go from SRV to high-gain with ease. Fender's innovative Greasebucket tone control stays clear all the way through its range. And a larger '70s-style headstock adds a vintage sense of style. And this American Special Strat made right here in Fender's state-of-the-art Corona, California, factory.
Any tone you need
Thanks to a pair of Fender's Texas Special single-coils, muscular blues tones are easily attained. But the addition of an Atomic humbucker in the bridge gives this strat the ability to push amps harder for harmonically rich overdrive. Used in any one of the five possible switch positions, the pickups give you classic Fender tones that have been with us since the dawn of the Strat and more. And a vintage-style tremolo rounds out the features on this beauty. If you're looking for an American-made Strat with unbeatable bang for the buck, this is the one.
Greasebucket tone control rolls off highs without affecting volume
Fender has fitted the American Special Stratocaster with their proprietary Greasebucket tone control. With this system you're able to take the bite off of single-coils or get thick tones without making your sound too muddy. The Greasebucket is designed to evenly rolls off highs without adding bass or affecting your volume. It gives you explicit control over your tone onstage without your having to compensate for a less-than-ideal sound.
