Alder center block gives your tone more sustain
You'll find the thin semi-hollowbody of the Fender Coronado is amazingly comfortable to play while providing a full hollowbody-style tone. You'll also notice your notes sing for days. Fender equipped the Coronado with a solid alder tone block inside its laminated maple body, and it gives it a stronger voice than you'd normally get from a semi-hollow instrument.
