The Gibson Les Paul Special '60s Tribute pays homage to the 1960's Les Paul. Prior to the birth of the humbucking pickup in the mid '50s, the Les Paul came equipped with P-90s (as does the Les Paul Special '60s Tribute). The P-90 is known for a well-balanced sound, a strong midrange, and the ability to bounce between clean and mean with varied picking intensity. You'll find the '60s SlimTaper neck fast and player friendly. The Les Paul Special '60s Tribute is available in a quintet of unique satin finishes.

Two P-90 pickups for vintage tone
The P-90 pickup produces a clean, bell-like tone that gets crunchy when you really lean into it. You'll love the punchy midrange and solid low end that sets P-90s apart from typical single-coil pickups. Many of the Beatles' biggest hits were recorded using P-90 equipped guitars. But the coolest thing about the P-90 pickup is that once you roll off the highs, you can still get the smoky tones we normally associate with humbuckers. Take it from the Sweetwater crew - this Les Paul has the classic sounds you want and expect from a Gibson.
Minimalist design
Gibson opted to omit frivolities such as a bound neck and body. The Les Paul Special '60s Tribute really is more than the sum of its parts: old-school pickups, premium electrical components, minimalist finishing touches, and worn-in feel all merge to make the Les Paul Special '60s Tribute a great guitar any Les Paul enthusiast would love.
Plek'd for precision playability
This Gibson Les Paul Studio '60s Tribute 2016 T feels fast and precise, thanks in large part to Plek processing. Typically reserved for top-dollar custom guitars, this process levels the frets with pinpoint precision, providing you with the most playable fretboard you're likely to own. Each note rings loud and clear, and the fret edges feel smooth as silk.
